Foster Care Review is a nonprofit organization that helps the courts monitor abused, abandoned and neglected foster children.  In a system that is overburdened, we make sure foster kids have adults they can count on for basic needs such as health care, stable schooling and safe homes.

To accomplish this, we rely on our greatest strength - concerned volunteers who listen.  Volunteers serve one full day per month reviewing cases of children living in Miami-Dade's foster care system.  The review is a court hearing that is led by a citizen review panel instead of a judge.  At each review our volunteers interview and evaluate updates from social workers, foster parents and children, monitor the wellbeing of each foster child, and make recommendations to the court that will lead to placement in a permanent, safe home.  With each panel's recommendations, a juvenile court judge gains the insight of committed adults who have heard the facts, considered the options and serve as advocates for each child.
