Volunteer GAL Karen Kerr Named FFCR’s Child Welfare Professional of the Month

Congratulations to Karen Kerr, Miami-Dade County Guardian ad Litem Program volunteer, who received FFCR’s Child Welfare Professional of the Month Award for April! An outstanding advocate for children in foster care, Karen has been a volunteer Guardian ad Litem since 2015 and has participated in many Citizen Review Panel hearings. Currently assigned to five cases, Karen consistently goes the extra mile to ensure that each child’s needs are met. For example, recently, Karen drove a child from Miami to Orlando in order to unite him with his new adoptive family. Thank you, Karen – and all community volunteers – for making a difference for children in foster care.
